If you are using a company-managed device, OneDrive should be automatically installed and configured when your device autopiloted. When saving new files, you should ensure that they are always saved in a folder within the Documents, Desktop, or Pictures folders so that they will be saved to your OneDrive cloud. You can confirm that files are syncing correctly so that no data is lost in the case of an accident or transitioning to a new computer by following the below steps:

1. Click on the OneDrive icon (blue cloud) in your system tray at the bottom right of the screen:

2. Click on the settings gear icon on the OneDrive menu that pulls up after clicking on the cloud:

3. Click on the 'settings' button on the main OneDrive menu that pops up:

4. Ensure that the preference to 'Start OneDrive when I sign into Windows' is toggled On. Then click the 'Manage Backup' button:

5. Ensure that all three folders are toggled on and that they say "Backed Up":

If the folders do not show that they are syncing correctly on this screen, it can usually be resolved by pausing and restarting syncing. You can do this by following steps 1 and 2 above, and then clicking on 'Pause Syncing' and choosing a time period:

Then, go to that same menu and click 'Resume Syncing':

If your OneDrive settings still do not show that they are syncing correctly after pausing and restarting syncing, reach out to the Service Desk for further assistance.

The final thing to note in regards to OneDrive syncing, is that if you use Microsoft OneNote as a desktop application (rather than opening it in a web browser), you should ensure that the application is syncing to OneDrive so that none of your notes will be lost if you have a computer failure. You can do that by following these steps:

1. Open up Microsoft OneNote application and click the 'File' tab in the upper right corner of the screen:

2. Click on the 'Account' button in the bottom left corner of the screen:

3. Ensure that OneDrive is listed under the 'Connected Services' section of the account page. If it's not, click 'add a service' and select 'OneDrive to link the services.
